Character Development in Fiction

This class will meet in the Albert L. Lorenzo Cultural Center, Room 137.
This course will offer an introduction to the forty-five master characters, while focusing on the design of the four primary character types found in fiction. We will discuss character arcs, story goals, and motivations. We will also touch on supportive characters and how they enhance your novel.
About the Presenter: Diana Kathryn Penn has immersed herself in the written word for over 30 years as a journalist, novelist, and teacher. She is an indie author of several books, in multiple genres. She has written a writing workshop curriculum for children and adults, and is also a professional book editor, book formatter and writing coach, and she hosts a weekly podcast program, Indie Reads Aloud, that features indie authors and their books. She lives in Madison Heights, Michigan with her dog, Charlie.
